Sovak's deep longing for America is also expressed in this theme, developed between 1980 and 1994. On the basis of older photographs of Californian impressions, the artist, with the help of inserted, small-format motifs and (earlier) quotations, creates new levels of images that do not enter into any relationship with each other.

Like windows into another world, they create associations or stories and suggest temporally displaced spheres behind the real world. Which subjects play a main or secondary role here eludes clear clarification.
